| Frequently Asked Questions
Who can come to the Writing Center?
The Writing Center is open to students, faculty, and staff of Portland State University, as well as members of the community.
What kind of projects can I bring to the Writing Center?
The Writing Center will help you with all varieties of projects, including class assignments, resumes, application essays, presentations, and creative writing.
What can I expect from the Writing Center and how do I prepare for a session?
The Writing Center aims to help writers at any stage of the writing process, from brainstorming to the final draft. When preparing for a session, reflect on what you want to focus on the most. It is helpful to bring two drafts, one for you and one for the consultant. Also, if you are working on an assignment for class, bringing a copy of that assignment is preferable. For more information, review our tips for a successful session.
